Association for Liberal Thinking held a workshop titled “Principles for a Free Society” on 22-24 March 2013 in Ankara in cooperation with Jarl Hjalmarson Foundation. 25 students from different cities and universities attended to this program. The program was opened by the remarks of Harun Kaban from ALT and Jonathan Olsson from JHF.
In the first day of the program, Gerald Knauss, Founder and President of European Stability Initiative, made presentation on “Human Rights and European Values”. Dr. Buğra Kalkan from Hitit University made a speech on “Spontaneous Order and Free Market Economy”. The presentation titled “Freedom of Speech” was made by Peter J. Olsson, Political Editor of The Newspaper Kvällsposten. At the end of the first day, Prof. Bilal Sambur from Yıldırım Beyazıt University spoke about “Freedoms”.
In the second day of the program, Prof. Tanel from Cankaya University,made a speech on “Democracy”; Ass. Prof. Bican Sahin, President of ALT, made a presentation on “Justice”. The program ended with “Rule of Law” presentation of Assistant Prof. Adnan Küçük from Kırıkkale University.
